The Concept:

Mahmood Saeed pre-engineered buildings are custom-designed to meet your exact requirements. The most common primary framing systems are shown below.

• Standard Framing Systems

The above main frame configurations are the most commonly used frames.  At Mahmood Saeed Steel we can produce other non-standard main frames, of almost any configuration, if required.

Secondary framing (Z and C sections)

Purlins, girts and eave struts are secondary structural members used to support the wall and roof Purlins are used on the roof; girts are used on the walls and eave struts are used at the intersection of the sidewall and the roof.

Secondary members have two other functions: they act as struts that help in resisting part of the longitudinal loads that are applied on the building such as wind and earthquake loads, and they provide lateral bracing to the compression flanges of the main frame members thereby increasing frame capacity

Roof and wall panels

(single skin and insulated sandwich panels):  Mahmood Saeed Steel offers a variety of profiles, bases, metal substrates and coatings for its panels. The metal skins are used as roof and wall panels, interior roof and wall liners, partition panels, soffit panels, etc.

PEB Application

A number of prominent international contractors and designers, who previously exclusively recommended conventional structural steel buildings, have now converted to and genuinely advocate pre-engineered buildings. Current applications for pre-engineered buildings range from car parking sheds to 90 m (+) clear span aircraft hangars, to almost every low-rise building imaginable.

Some of the most common applications are:

Insulated Cladding Systems

Mahmood Saeed Steel Offers three types of internal insulation for wall and roof cladding.

  1. Single Skin Panel with Insulation
  2. Factory Injected Sandwich Panel
  • Field Assembled Sandwich Panel
  1. Insulated Single Skin Panel

The Single Skin Panels are erected with Fiberglass/Rockwool insulation underneath in the steel buildings.

Mahmood Saeed Steel recommends the use of fiberglass insulation due to its good thermal insulation characteristics, light weight, material strength and ease of installation.

Rockwool insulation has also good fibrous insulating properties and fire resistance characteristics which is preferred in countries where it is manufactured locally and where environmental  restrictions require it.

Insulation rolls are available in a wide range of thicknesses, densities and insulating R-Values.

II.Factory Injected Sandwich Panel

This Panel is a composite of pre-painted metal skins with a factory-foamed polyurethane core. These panels are intended for use as thermally efficient roof and wall cladding for buildings.  The polyurethane contains HCFC, which is environment friendly and less destructive to the ozone layer.

Ill.Field Assembled Sandwich Panel

The Field Assembled Sandwich Panel  is an insulated roof and wall cladding system that is field assembled. It consists of four parts:

A steel Liner panel fastened to the roof purlins or wall girts. Sub-purlins / sub-girts.

A layer of faced/ un-faced fiberglass insulation

An exterior steel panel fastened to the sub-purlins/sub-girts.

Sundry Parts

Sundry parts consist of two categories:

Standard buyouts, which are items forming a part of the basic Madden Steel building but are not manufactured by Mahmood Saeed Steel. These include anchor bolts, primary and secondary connection bolts, sheeting fasteners, pop rivets, foam closures, bead mastics, flowable mastics, insulation tapes etc.

Miscellaneous items that are manufactured by Mahmood Saeed Steel such as clips, flange braces, sag rods, brackets, stiffeners, end plates, galvanized grating, chequered plates, etc. that are required to complete a building.

The Advantages of PEB

The numerous advantages offered by a Pre-Engineered Building include:

REDUCED CONSTRUCTION TIME: Buildings are typically delivered in just a few weeks after approval of drawings. Foundation and anchor bolts are cast parallel with finished, ready for the site bolting. Our study shows that in India the use of PEB will reduce total construction time of the project by at least 50%. This also allows faster occupancy and earlier realization of revenue.

LOWER COST: Due to the systems approach, there is a significant saving in design, manufacturing and on site erection cost. The secondary members and cladding nest together reducing transportation cost.

The use of tapered built-up primary structural members and 'Z' shaped secondary structural   members results in up to 30 - 40 per cent weight saving over conventional hot rolled members.  Further savings are achieved due to fewer and lighter foundation requirements and the combination of engineering costs with the supply price of a pre-engineered building.

Superior Quality: Design standards are based upon the latest US codes, and raw materials used are as per ASTM Standard (American Society for Testing and Materials). Manufacturing is done in the factory under controlled conditions with precision technology.

FLEXIBILTY OF EXPANSION: Buildings can be easily expanded in length by adding additional bays. Also expansion in width and height is possible by pre designing for future expansion.

LARGE CLEAR SPANS: Buildings can be supplied to around 80M clear spans.

QUALITY CONTROL: As buildings are manufactured completely in the factory under controlled conditions the quality is assured.

Speed of Construction: Standard building delivery occurs within just 6-8 weeks .An additional advantage is quick erection, as all structural members are bolted with the help of user- friendly erection drawings (typical erection time is 1 man hour per sq. meter)

LOW MAINTENANCE: Buildings are supplied with high quality paint systems for cladding and steel to suit ambient conditions at the site, which results in long durability and low maintenance coats.

ENERGY EFFICIENT ROOFING AND WALL SYSTEMS: Buildings can be supplied with polyurethane insulated panels or fiberglass blankets insulation to achieve required “U” values.

ARCHITECTURAL VERSTALITY: Building can be supplied with various types of fascias, canopies, and curved eaves and are designed to receive pre cast concrete wall panels, curtain walls, block walls and other wall systems.
